Whether you are Crocheting or Knitting you will need a yarn needle to finish your project. There is always going to be tails that need to taken care of.
I like Steel Yarn Knitting Needles better than plastic, but your preference is something you must decide for yourself as you go along. My preference is based on my experience, I have broken many plastic yarn needles and hate when they have safety balls at the tips. Those safety tips make it hard to sew/weave, and you would never be able to do a Russian Join with one of those.
To be fair not all plastic yarn needles have that safety balls on the tips but for me they are too thick. I would like to know if anyone likes the plastic ones better and why.
No Matter which kind you get, get a multi pack because you will lose some. I had just one for a long time and accidentally threw it out. By the time I realized what I had done it was to late to “find” it in the trash and I doubt would have been able to find “the needle in the hay (trash) stack “, ha ha.
