I have always hated how my thumb feels after crocheting. Holding the hook was unnatural and the thin hook hit just the right (wrong) spot while moving during a stitch, especially the smaller hooks . I did some of my other hooks but this shape is my favorite so far. The ball where my thumb is makes it so the hook just rolls on my thumb while stitching. I like the ball at the lower part for my pinkie, gives it something to hold on too. The clay is Kato Polyclay from Hobby Lobby. It not easy to work with. I just got chunks and rolled them into snakes and wrapped the snake around the hook, then smooth out lines with fingers or rolling on table. I was smart enough to leave a window for the hook size. I did not do that on the first hook I did, ha ha
